=== Early game (tutorial) === Play the tutorial. In it you will learn to connect your [[Scout]]s to the logistics network, attach a [[Laser Mining Tool]], and send one off to harvest [[Metal Ore]]. You'll then learn to build Worker bots and mining tools. When you have your worker bots built, let them do the mining. Scouts want to feel the grass under their... Magnetic repulsor drive(?), explore the valleys and plateaus, and bring back gifts from the explorables. ==== Good behaviour ==== Select your Worker and right click a nearby metal ore deposit. The bot will happily do its task... That is, mine until its inventory is full (or the ore deposit runs out, whichever is first). If your bot is connected to the logistics network, you might see that your happy miner bot decides to wander back to base and drop off its ore at the nearby fabricators, then go get a crystal from its friend and take it to the construction site. If left alone, it will never go back to mining again. Please don't be angry with your happy little miner bot, it's just doing what it's told. It is normal behaviour! You gave it one job then the logistics network told it do everything else, forever. ==== Miner for life ==== If you want your bot to only mine and do nothing else, until that 6435 metal ore deposit runs out, there are numerous ways to do so. This guide will explain two. *The simplest is to click on the bots logistics network button and deselect "carry out orders". If you just right-clicked your bot on that ore that just ran out, remember to send it off to the ore next door. *Another option is to disable the bot from the network. But no one will talk to it, no one will pick up its hard earned treasure. It will feel like an outcast and will stop working, holding its 20 ore, looking at the resource deposit. Waiting, waiting for seconds? Waiting for hours? Until some higher power, looks down from above, and the bot hopes it will be selected, hopes to return to the fold, to rejoin the hive mind, to communicate once again with its siblings. Then it'll go get a crystal from its friend and take it to the construction site. But if that higher entity decided to strg + right click a storage, let's say a [[Storage Block (8)]] placed conveniently next to the ore deposits, the little miner will call that its new HOME, happily drop off its 20 ore and return to its only purpose: mining! (Diggy Diggy Hole!) ....More later?....
