==== General Threats ==== Bugs, the virus and other players are all valid threats and each require a different approach to tackle. ===== Bugs ===== <!--write about the bugs (just the simple ones)--> The smallest threat you will encounter is likely to be a {{IL|Trilobyte}}. They leave their {{IL|Bug Hole}}s when a nearby threat is detected, but have low damage and can be dispatched with a couple of hits with the most basic of weapons:{{IL|Small Turret}}. On the plateaus, you will encounter {{IL|Bug Hive}}s, which are sometimes accompanied with {{IL|Bug Hole}}s. The hives tend to spawn bigger bugs like the {{IL|Scale Worm}}, but over time and game progression, will also spawn serious threats like {{IL|Ravager}}, {{IL|Malika}} and its flying cousin, {{IL|Mothika}}. Most of the bugs do have a smaller attack range than the small turret, which can make them easy to kill. ===== The Virus ===== <!--write about getting infected and how to mitigate that--> If you are unfortunate enough to stumble into an infected unit on the plateau, it is highly likely that you will contract the virus. The virus tends to be a serious nuisance as an infected unit will periodically shut down and the virus will spread to nearby units if not handled appropriately. Picking up an {{IL|Infected Circuit Board}} from a Virus Unit typically unlocks the virus technology group, which will allow you to create a cure along side some very unique components. Note: The virus is known to be tweaked on occasion to adjust the severity. At one point in the game it dealt notable damage over time to infected units. ===== Other Players ===== <!--write about player interaction and faction conflict (maybe refer to anomalies)-->
