The 'Human Evolution' mission kicks off with the discovery of a massive Space Elevator built long ago by the Humans, its coordinates revealed by the "Tower Signals detected" event. By upgrading an Explorer vehicle and gaining access to their other ruined structures you can utilize the Blight Simulation Core to partially restore the giant tower.
01: Repair the Human AI Explorer fully
The player will receive a map ping, "Disturbance Detected - Tower Signals detected at <x,y>", when they generate a chunk containing the Space Elevator explorable. HIGGS will direct you to create an AI Explorer, done by placing the Human Explorer, 20 Robotics Datacubes and the Human Simulation Core into the Re-simulator.
Alternatively, this step can be completed by producing the AI Explorer before the Space Elevator is found. The player will still need to discover the Space Elevator's location to access its coordinates on the mission log.
02: Solve a Power Plant, with a puzzle and Transformer
The AI Explorer now features two standard Inventory slots in addition to its one Anomaly Inventory. It also includes an integrated Small Intel Scanner, allowing it to access Human, Alien and Blight explorables.
Locate a cluster of explorable Human structures; each should include a Power Plant, Warehouse, Factory and Research Lab. Use the AI Explorer's Intel Scanner to complete the Scan challenge on a Human Power Plant (or any other Human structure). ELAIN will synthesize a blueprint for the Transformer.
Solve the Power Plant's scan, repair and puzzle challenges. One of the loot items should be a Small Modular Reactor, required for repairing the next structure. You will also find Human Datacubes, allowing access to the Human tech tree, and logs from the Humans' time on the world.
03: Solve a Warehouse, with a puzzle and Small Modular Reactor
Repeat the above process with a Human Warehouse, solving the scan, puzzle and repair challenges. The Warehouse should contain an Engine among other items.
04: Solve a Factory, with a puzzle and Engine
As before, bring the Factory online by solving its scan, puzzle and repair challenges. Each Factory is preconfigured with one production recipe which cannot be changed. The next step requires Microscopes and Low Density Frames which can be produced from these Factories or the Human Factories you can make yourself after research into Human technology.
05: Build a Microscope and take it to solve a Data Complex within the Blight
Your next destination is a Human Data Complex, an explorable which can be found within deep Blight. In order to repair it you must bring a Microscope, produced either at your own Human Factory or a restored Factory ruin. Microscopes require one each of a Wire, Transformer and Low Density Frame; Low Density Frames require four each of Aluminum Rods and Aluminum Sheets.
06: Store Datakeys inside the AI Explorer and extract data from a Research Lab in the Human ruins
The purpose of the Data Complex is to convert Human Datakeys into Blight Datakeys, which HIGGS requires for his objective. Start by looting whatever blank Datakeys are available; extras can be produced after some research into Human tech.
Research Labs do not need to be solved for the AI Explorer to access the Extract Data challenge. Each Lab can convert one blank Datakey to one Human Datakey.
07: Extract data from at least five Research Labs, then take and insert them into a Data Complex
HIGGS asks that you extract from four more Labs with the end goal of producing five Blight Datakeys. If you don't have enough blank Datakeys, find more in other Data Complexes or make extras after researching Human Construction. Load the new Blight Datakeys back into the AI Explorer.
08: Use the Blight Datakeys and make a Blight Simulation Core in the AI Research Center
Use the AI Researcher to make the Blight Simulation Core. Install it into your Re-simulator.
09: Find an Anomaly Re-simulator, warp in and find a HIGGS Out-of-Phase AI Core
This objective references the Anomaly Base mission. Activate an anomalous warp by having a bot bring a Virus Source Code to a warp-capable Re-simulator. Once teleported, interact with a Re-simulator ruin and use the Extract command. The bot will pick up HIGGS' out-of-phase AI Core before immediately warping back.
10: Repair HIGGS' AI Core and install it into the Space Elevator
Install the Blight Simulation Core into your Re-simulator if you haven't already. Place in HIGGS' damaged core to restore it to full function. Use your AI Explorer to take HIGGS' AI Core to the Space Elevator and install HIGGS to conclude the mission.
