Research is unlocked when equipping an Uplink for the first time.
The basic Research tree starts with a choice of
- Basic Signals - Allows for production of components for detection and signal transfer
- Basic Structures - Expands the range of small buildings with a variety of socket configurations
- Basic Power - Unlocks power production and storage components that contribute to your power grid
Each Uplink will request the required materials, and will progress one step towards unlocking new technologies.
Multiple uplinks will speed up research.
