Laser Mining Tool

The Laser Mining Tool is a module which occupies a Small socket on a bot or building. It is used for gathering from resource nodes twice as quickly as the basic Miner.

Laser Mining Tools are the second tier of resource gathering module. Like Miners, they are used to gather Iron Ore, Crystal Chunks, Silica and Blight Crystal from resource deposits. The main difference is their work speed; a Miner generates one unit of resource over six seconds of work, while the Laser Mining Tool only needs three seconds. Laser Mining Tools can *not* mine Laterite or Obsidian; a Laser Extractor is necessary for such advanced materials.

The player begins a new game with two Laser Mining Tools equipped to their Scouts. Once you research and construct a Resimulator, additional Laser Mining Tools can be obtained by resimulating Miner modules.
