The Uplink is a Medium Component used to perform Research.
Uplinks produce research progress by spending the materials required by the player's selected Research subject. Each set of materials produces one "block" of progress towards Research completion.
Research speed can be accelerated by using multiple Uplinks. If multiple Research subjects are queued up, the Uplinks will coordinate their requests to begin progress on the next Research while the previous one is finishing.
