Mining |
The Miner is a Small-size component used to extract materials from natural resource deposits.
The Miner is the first available resource gathering module. It can be used to extract Metal Ore, Crystal Chunks, Silica Sand and Blight Crystal Chunks from resource deposits, reducing the player's reliance on scattered resources and Explorables. For advanced resources such as Laterite Ore or Obsidian Chunks, a Laser Extractor is necessary.
Tips:
- You can set a mining bot's Home to a storage or refinery unit. When the miner's inventory is full it will deliver the resources then return to work.
- Miner components can also be socketed onto buildings. However, the Miner's limited range means care should be taken where they are placed, lest you have to frequently deconstruct and rebuild them to mine from shrinking resource deposits.
- Placing a Miner and Fabricator on a two-socket unit such as a Twinbot or 2S building can be an efficient way of quickly converting Metal Ore deposits into usable Metal Bars.
A Component is a modular item that can be attached to an appropriate sized socket. Components have a wide variety of functions and their limitations of usage tends towards the player's creativity. You could have a worker bot with a miner equipped or you could have a building with a miner equipped.
"It's your choice."
USING COMPONENTS
A Component functions when installed into a Socket of equal or larger size. Components can also be transported and stored in Inventory slots or dropped on the ground, though they will not function in this manner.
SOCKET SIZES
There are four sizes of Socket into which a Component can be installed: Internal, Small, Medium and Large. Larger Components tend to be stronger than smaller ones but also demand larger Sockets to install.
OVERCLOCKING
When placing a component into a larger socket than necessary, that component gains 50% speed to any "work time" functionality such as mining speed, production time or rate of fire. This amount is not affected by how much bigger the Socket is than the Component (e.g. a Laser Mining Tool gains no more bonus from a Large socket than a Medium socket).

The Laser Mining Tool is a Small-size component used to extract materials from natural resource deposits.
The Laser Mining Tool is an advanced variant of the Miner. Like the Miner, it is also used to gather Metal Ore, Crystal Chunks, Silica Sand and Blight Crystal Chunks from resource deposits. The main difference is its work speed; a Miner generates one unit of metal ore over six seconds of work, while the Laser Mining Tool only needs three seconds. For advanced resources such as Laterite Ore or Obsidian Chunks, a Laser Extractor is necessary.
The player begins a new game with two Laser Mining Tools equipped to their Scouts. Once you research and construct a Re-simulator, additional Laser Mining Tools can be obtained by resimulating Miner components.
Tip: Despite requiring no research to produce, one must actually have access to a Resimulator which does require technology.
Template loop detected: Template:ComponentsNav・
The Laser Extractor is a Medium-sized Component used to extract materials from resource deposits.
Laser Extractors work similarly to the smaller Miner and Laser Mining Tool, gathering materials from an adjacent deposit. However, these tools work exclusively on two resources: Obsidian chunks and Laterite ore.
Tips:
- Laser Extractors work only on the higher tier ores. They will not replace the smaller mining tools for metal, crystal, silica and blight crystal!

Production |
The Fabricator is a Small-sized component used for refining natural resources into useful materials.
Fabricators are production components which craft one or two materials into another. This is used primarily for smelting Metal Ore into Metal Bars, Metal Bars into Metal Plates and Silica Sand into Silicon Sand.
Fabricators can also construct several components important in the early game: additional Fabricators, useful for expanding mining and refining capabilities; and Assemblers, more advanced production components.
The player's starting forces include one Fabricator carried on the Mobile Command Center's inventory. Additional Fabricators can sometimes be looted from Explorables.
Tips:
- Because they are small components, Fabricators can be utilized in surprising ways. You can have a building with two Fabricators turning Metal Ore directly into Metal Plates. Maybe the bot transporting Metal Ore from a faraway mine can smelt it on the way home?
