The Infected Circuit Board is an advanced manufactured item.
Infected Circuit Boards have been corrupted by a virus that allows them to bypass Robot security. They are an integral part of research into understanding the virus, unlocking both defenses against infection and methods of utilizing viral technology.
The player's first Infected Circuit Boards must be obtained from destroying Viral Bots, often found loitering around the Plateau biome. Be cautious when exploring and engage the Bots at range; they will infect Bots that get too close, causing them to escape your control and further spread the virus among your units. Picking up one Infected Circuit Board grants their recipe for manufacture at an Assembler and unlocks Virus Research.
The puzzles on Explorables can be bypassed by using one Infected Circuit Board. This can be used in conjunction with Behaviors to automate the looting of Explorables.
