The Miner is a module which occupies a Small socket on a bot or building. It is used for gathering from resource nodes.

The Miner is the first available resource gathering module. It can be used to extract Metal Ore, Crystal Chunks, Silica Sand and Blight Crystal Chunks from resource deposits, reducing the player's reliance on scattered resources and Explorables. For advanced resources such as Laterite Ore or Obsidian Chunks, a Laser Extractor is necessary.

Tips:

  • You can set a mining bot's Home to a storage or refinery unit. When the miner's inventory is full it will deliver the resources then return to work.
  • Miner components can also be socketed onto buildings. However, the Miner's limited range means care should be taken where they are placed, lest you have to frequently deconstruct and rebuild them to mine from shrinking resource deposits.
  • Placing a Miner and Fabricator on a two-socket unit such as a Twinbot or 2S building can be an efficient way of quickly converting Metal Ore deposits into usable Metal Bars.
